What is Office insurance?

Office insurance provides businesses with insurance cover for their assets (desks/chairs, computers, laptops, etc.), Loss of revenue following an insured incident, and cover for injury to an employee or third party, or their property caused by alleged negligence. It protects a company from the unexpected expense cause by an insured peril.

What if equipment is used away from the office?

Unlike some other office insurance policies, WorkspacePlus+ provides cover for equipment away from your premises automatically, be that for employees working from home, whilst your traveling, or on site.

All my staff work from home, do we still need Office insurance?

Yes, you should not assume that an employees home insurance would cover any equipment owned by the company. A company also has a duty of care to its employees, even when working from home. To protect your company and its assets, WorkspacePlus+ provides cover for equipment entrusted to employees, as well as liability protection for claims brought by employees for injury where ever they may be, allegedly due to the negligence of the company.

Are there other covers I should consider?

What are common exclusions under an Office policy?
  • Manual Work Away: Office risk are defined as being based out of a specific office or location, and manual work limited to collection and delivery outside of the property
  • Theft: Has to take place by forced or violent means, in other words any theft has to be by forced entry or the threat of violence for the policy to respond

WorkspacePlus+ does not have these exclusions, therefore providing cover for theft without the need for forced or violent entry/exit. WorkspacePlus+ also provides for incidental manual work in line with your business activities.
