We are pleased to announce that Griffiths & Armour has been honoured with the Outstanding Contribution Award at the Annual Chartered Insurance Institute Dinner. This award recognises the firm’s significant and longstanding contributions to both the Insurance Institute of Liverpool and the broader Liverpool insurance industry over our 90-year history.
Griffiths & Armour was founded in 1934 by Kenneth Griffiths and George Armour. After leaving the Royal Insurance Company, they started their journey dealing with mostly non-marine broking; a gap they had spotted in the market. The firm has a longstanding history with the Liverpool Chartered Insurance Institute, with Kenneth serving as its President in 1969. Since then, seven other Griffiths & Armour colleagues have followed in his footsteps, continuing the firm’s longstanding involvement with the Institute.
Griffiths & Armour Managing Director – General Insurance Division, Simon Keenan said:

It reflects our firm’s unwavering commitment to the insurance profession and to the Liverpool community that has supported us throughout our 90-year history. We are proud to continue the legacy of leadership and service that began with our founders, and I’m grateful to have played a part in that journey as a former President of the Liverpool Insurance Institute.”
Griffiths & Armour Claims Executive George Heron was also presented with the Young Achiever Award at the event. George joined Griffiths & Armour via our graduate programme in 2022 and has been an integral part of our Pride celebrations, mental health support, and training our graduates in the General Division.
On winning the award, George said:
“I was delighted to win the Young Achiever Award. I am grateful to my colleagues and friends at Griffiths & Armour for their support, which has played a key role in this achievement. I was up against a strong cohort of nominees so truly honoured to have received this award!”
