New Partner and Board Director appointment, Griffiths & Armour Professional Risks

1 April 2024

Griffiths & Armour is pleased to announce that Craig Roberts, has been appointed as Partner and also Director of Griffiths & Armour (Holdings) Limited following FCA regulatory approval.

Joining Griffiths & Armour in 2005, Craig advises firms who are responsible for designing and constructing the built environment on their professional risk exposures and what to do about them. His advisory work has seen him actively involved with a broad spectrum of client interests – from our largest international clients to institutional SME professions forums. As an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) with a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Aberystwyth, Craig joined the business after graduation, developing a comprehensive understanding of the insurance market, with particular focus on Professional Indemnity.

Project and risk management responsibilities have seen Craig involved in many collaborative initiatives on behalf of our clients. With board responsibility for our risk management and client education work, Craig regularly writes on subjects concerning PI insurance and construction and is an acknowledged authority on today’s risk exposures facing the construction professions. As the principal author of Griffiths & Armour’s most recent risk education publications, ‘A Brave New World: Navigating Future Challenges’, and ‘Constructing Change: Evolving The Status Quo or Time to Reset?‘, Craig has provided a wider view of the market challenges facing construction consultants.

This has led Craig into regular liaison with Government and trade bodies on some of the big challenges facing this sector, applying his unique insight to many of the legal and operational challenges faced by our construction clients. Most recently this has included active involvement at the highest levels in industry lobbying on fire safety and inter-related building quality issues.

Carl Evans, Partner and Group Chief Executive, Professional Risks Division said:

“I welcome Craig to the Griffiths & Armour Board, his appointment is richly deserved, and his combination of analytical and communication skills will be a great addition to our Leadership team.

Craig has become a key member of the Professional Risks Division over many years and is a great example of how we are committed to nurturing and developing our talented team; providing our clients with experienced, approachable, dedicated and knowledgeable people to work on their behalf and understand their challenges.

Craig, many congratulations from me, the Board and from all your colleagues at Griffiths & Armour.”

Craig commented:

“I’m lucky to work not only with great people, both colleagues and clients alike, but also for a firm which strives to bring out the best in their team. Griffiths & Armour gives everyone here the professional freedom to genuinely support our clients, which makes our work very satisfying and rewarding.

Since joining Griffiths & Armour, my career within the business has evolved enormously and to now be appointed to the Board is a real honour. Taking the lead on raising awareness of the risk issues that the clients of our Professional Risks division face has been challenging at times but has given me the opportunity to try to exert some positive influence on actions to improve tomorrow’s outlook.

I’m proud to be part of a team that delivers best in class solutions for our clients, whilst consistently taking the time to go the extra mile in supporting our clients’ continued success.”
